We had the opportunity to connect with Rahim Alem Jr. and get an inside look at his journey as a rising multi-sport athlete in both baseball and football. Currently a sophomore at Westgate High School, Rahim is developing within a program known for producing high-level talent, including Jared Mitchell, who went on to compete for LSU Tigers baseball. With strong roots, proven production, and a growing presence on the field, Rahim is quickly establishing himself as a name to watch.

Rahim is no stranger to competition, coming from a family with a strong athletic background that has helped shape his skills and mindset. With a solid foundation and a commitment to continuous improvement, Rahim is a rising athlete to watch. His dedication and work ethic position him well as he continues to climb the ladder and pursue future collegiate opportunities.

Rahim isn’t just talking it—he’s backing it up with elite production. He’s dominating at the plate with an outstanding .735 batting average, racking up 47 hits and 44 RBIs, and establishing himself as one of the top-performing sophomores to watch.

On the basepaths, his speed is a game-changer. With 29 stolen bases and a high success rate, Rahim consistently puts pressure on defenses and creates scoring opportunities every time he gets on.

Defensively, he’s putting in the work to elevate his game—continuing to improve his fielding percentage and developing into a dependable, all-around player for his team.

Rahim is a rising name, and his combination of production, speed, and work ethic makes it clear—he’s only getting started.

Rahim Alem Jr. comes from a strong athletic lineage, as his father, Rahim Alem, made his mark playing football at LSU Tigers football. Competing at a high level, his father set a standard of discipline, toughness, and performance that continues to influence Rahim’s approach to the game.

Growing up around the sport, Rahim Jr. has been exposed to what it takes to compete at an elite level. That foundation is evident in his work ethic, mindset, and drive to succeed.

With that kind of guidance and experience behind him, Rahim is not only following in strong footsteps—he’s building his own path with the tools and mentality needed to reach the next level.

Rahim’s athletic roots run even deeper through his uncle, Chad Jones, who was a standout dual-sport athlete at Louisiana State University. Excelling in both football and baseball, Chad showcased elite versatility and the ability to compete at a high level across multiple sports.

He went on to reach the professional level, turning his talent and dedication into an opportunity to play at the highest stage. His journey is a powerful example of what’s possible through hard work, discipline, and commitment.

Having that kind of influence so close to home gives Rahim a unique perspective, he’s surrounded by firsthand experience of what it takes to succeed, and he’s using that foundation to carve out his own path.

Rahim shared that he’s a fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Baltimore Ravens—two elite organizations that reflect his love for high-level competition. With those influences, he’s locked in on one major goal: earning the opportunity to play for LSU Tigers, following in the footsteps of both his father and uncle.

He made it clear—playing where his family legacy was built would mean everything to him.

From a recruiting perspective, the path to that level takes grit, consistency, and a relentless work ethic. After watching Rahim compete, reviewing his stats and highlights, and getting to know him as both an athlete and a person, there’s no question he has the tools to turn that goal into reality.

Behind him is a strong support system led by his mother—an athlete and coach herself—who plays a major role in his development. With a family deeply rooted in sports and a foundation built on support, discipline, and experience, Rahim is positioned to reach NCAA Division I level and continue building on his family’s legacy. His goals are set to play dual sports when he gets there.

As part of the selection process for Player of the Month, we connected with Rahim’s head coach, Jerome Jacob, who had nothing but strong praise for him. Coach Jacob described Rahim as “a standout multi-sport athlete,” emphasizing that his performance is driven by elite offensive production and a relentless approach to the game.

He also highlighted Rahim’s deep love for competition, something that shows up every time he steps on the field. Beyond his athletic ability, Coach Jacob pointed to Rahim’s strong support system, including his close relationship with his mother, as a key part of his development.

In our own conversation with Rahim, those same values came through clearly. He spoke about his faith, his belief system, and the guidance he draws from it—adding another layer to the discipline, focus, and character that define who he is both on and off the field.
